Gorbel has manufactured ergonomic cranes since the late 1970s. The company was founded as a manufacturer of manually rotated jib cranes. As Gorbel developed into a larger company, mechanized jibs were added to expand the crane line.
Gorbel saw a need for a wider range of lifting products in the manufacturing environment. This need resulted in a new product line of enclosed track work station bridge cranes, including free standing work station bridge cranes, ceiling mounted bridge cranes, monorails and work station jib cranes.
Today Gorbel has over 30 years experience providing overhead handling solutions through dealers like Power and Motion Industrial Sales.

In a study directed by the Human Factors Laboratory at Rochester Institute of Technology for Gorbel, it was demonstrated that Work Station Cranes result in productivity increases of up to 28% compared with traditional I-beam cranes. The Work Station Bridge Cranes move so effortlessly that they convey a 100:1 productivity ratio. Accordingly a worker can move a 500 lb. load with just 5 lbs. of energy. Because of the ease of movement and positioning, the Work Station Cranes contribute to worker safety.

Gorbel's Fixed and Adjustable Height Steel Gantry Cranes provide an economical way to lift materials anywhere in a facility. The wheels enable you to move the gantry around your facility. This is more cost-effective lifting solution for areas of infrequent lifts than a more expensive permanent structure. Our heavy duty end frame design with square tubing uprights, knee braces and channel base provides stable lifting and movement.
Fixed Height Gantry Cranes are available in spans up to 30' and capacities up to 5 ton
Adjustable Height Gantry Cranes provide the most flexible lifting solution of any style gantry crane. It can be easily moved and easily adjusted to provide different lifting heights.
Aluminum Gantry Cranes are made from lightweight extruded aluminum track. They have an adjustable span and height and are collapsible for easy storage when not in use.
